The Firm is routinely successful in negotiating favorable settlements and in winning dispositive motions in court. Most recently, in July 2009, Mr. O'Shea won an affirmance before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit of a grant of summary judgment awarding over $100 million to a client in a securities fraud and breach of contract litigation.
The Firm also has a highly sophisticated trial practice. As just one example, Mr. O'Shea was retained as trial counsel for Visa U.S.A. Inc. for the May 2003 trial of a multi-billion dollar antitrust litigation led by Walmart, Sears and other large retailers in a class action filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
